Cyberagentur commits to the foundations of society
March 21, 2024 is the International Day against Racism. The Agentur für Innovation in der Cybersicherheit (Cyberagentur) is participating in a joint declaration by in-house companies of the Federal Ministry of Defense.
At a time when the foundations of our liberal and democratic society are threatened by both external and internal challenges, Cyberagentur stands up more than ever for the values that are at the core of our work and our community:
- We have a diverse workforce.
- We need the freedom of science.
- We are working on projects to protect society from the influence of fake news.
- We work internationally.
This is why the Cyberagentur is involved in the “For what counts” campaign of the in-house companies of the Federal Ministry of Defense on the day against racism and supports the following statement:
For what counts
We are very fortunate in Germany to live in a democratic constitutional state. In view of our history and our responsibility for future generations, it is our duty to defend this.
Because every day, more and more threats to our free and democratic basic order are emerging. From the outside through disinformation and increasingly also military threats. From within through political extremism.
As an in-house company for the Federal Ministry of Defense, we stand closely by the people who defend our freedom. Of course, this also applies to the International Day against Racism. Because we are convinced that there can be no alternative to our liberal democracy and universal human rights in our society. But also because, as a state-owned company, we see ourselves as having a special responsibility to take a stand.
For what counts: Diversity
Diversity in all its forms is the basis for progress and the best solutions. Only with it will we be able to develop the necessary perspectives and strengths to meet current and future challenges.
For what counts: Openness
We need to continue to be willing to treat each other with openness and tolerance, regardless of origin, lifestyle or other characteristics. We must listen and respect different ideas, even if they do not correspond to our own convictions – this is the only way to create a sustainable basis.
For what counts: Community
Our community is an essential pillar for peace and our prosperity; populist slogans of any kind undermine it and work against balance – they aim to work against each other, when we can only prosper together by working together. We take a clear stand against the inherent threat or denigration of individual groups.
For what counts: Resilience
Our democracy must be protected against dangers so that we retain the freedom to defend ourselves against racism, intolerance and totalitarian tendencies. As the federal company for the business area of the Federal Ministry of Defense, we are committed to our responsibility to serve a defensible democracy.
