Claudia Thamm succeeds Christian Mrugalla
Dr. Claudia Thamm appointed as the new Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of the Agentur für Innovation in der Cybersicherheit GmbH (Cyberagentur).
Dr. Claudia Thamm has been appointed as the new Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of the Agentur für Innovation in der Cybersicherheit. The Federal Cabinet confirmed the shareholder’s proposal. She succeeds Dr. Christian Mrugalla, who took over as Chair of the Cyberagentur’s Supervisory Board in 2022 after previously serving as Deputy Chair for two years. Dr. Christian Mrugalla retired from office at the end of 2024.
As Senior Vice President Public Sector and Business Development at Bundesdruckerei, Dr. Claudia Thamm is responsible for business with federal, state and local authorities. She was previously Head of Strategic Corporate Development and Mergers & Acquisitions at Bundesdruckerei. After studying law, she worked in the Berlin Senate Chancellery, most recently in the governing mayor’s department. In her subsequent position as an authorized signatory at KPMG, she took over the management of various projects in the public sector.
“Not least the change in the geopolitical situation has made it clear that cyber attacks pose a far-reaching threat to the German administration, economy and society and can even seriously damage the democratic system. Forward-looking research into cyber security and the resulting technological innovations are fundamental to meeting these challenges,” says Dr. Claudia Thamm, emphasizing the role of the Cyberagentur. In her new role as Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board, she brings extensive technical expertise, management experience and strategic know-how to the table.

The Supervisory Board is responsible for monitoring the actions of the Management Board in accordance with the purpose of the company and advising it. It decides on the company’s important financial matters and also deals with the audit of the annual financial statements and recommendations for the auditor. It carries out its activities in accordance with the statutory provisions, the articles of association, the principles of good corporate governance and active participation in the area of the federal government and these rules of procedure. The Supervisory Board works in a spirit of trust with the Management Board to fulfill its duties and implement Strategy 2025.

Other members of the Supervisory Board were appointed for a second term of office. Wolfgang Hellmich, Member of the German Bundestag, and Jens Lehmann, Member of the German Bundestag, were reappointed as parliamentary representatives at the beginning of January. Michael Arenz and Markus Sonntag were also appointed to the Supervisory Board for a second term of office.
