One thing is clear: the security risk is almost always sitting in front of the PC. Be it unintentional, such as through ignorance, or intentional, such as through fake news, deepfakes and propaganda. People in cyberspace therefore pose enormous challenges to the security of society, but also to the security of each individual. Digital identities, digital consumer protection, human-machine interactions are therefore important topics, as are the cyber-resilient society and the cyber-enabled state – topics in which we commission research.
Our topics in this focus area
In the field of digital identities, the focus is on the secure authentication of people in the digital age. Here we deal with the question of how individuals can create, control and manage their digital self.
The cyber-resilient society places the human factor at the center of all considerations. To date, we have dealt with cybercrime, issues of resilience and disinformation.
In the field of human-machine interaction, we delve deep into the world of future technologies. Here, we are working on revolutionizing the interaction between man and machine.
The focus of the Cyber-enabled State topic area is the question of how cybercrime can be identified and combated in order to effectively protect the state and society against cyberattacks.
